Sunday Stills : Animals of Husbandry

The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was Animals of Husbandry. Photographing baby pigs was a new experience for me. The heat lamp cast a golden glow that was really picked up by the lighter colored pigs. I had to use a flash because it was dark in the hog barn.
These cute little guys are ten days old.
These guys are a little older, I believe they were about eight weeks old...pigs grow really fast!
After being in the hog barn for a while my lens fogged up and I got some obnoxious spots in my photos, I was able to crop out most of them. However there are still some in the upper left hand corner of this photo. I had been outside for quite a long time with my camera, and it was only about 20 degrees outside.

More rainbow pigs!
Can anyone say BACON! Or Hog Roast! Thanks to our neighbors for allowing me into their farrowing barn! :)

  9. You did a great job of shooting! It's still cold here, also. 20* this morning. I'm sort of afraid it is going to go into a huge heat wave that will melt all the snow fast. Then we will have flooding. Our place won't flood as we are on a Plateau, but the low lying areas will get it.

By this time we should have been able to start planting, not yet...maybe next week.

  14. Cute baby pigs! I had no idea baby pigs were so well formed at ten days. I always thought they were more like little puppies or kittens or something like that that have to mature some before they are so mobile.
