Sunday Stills: Building at sunrise or sunset

The challenge this week was to capture a building at sunrise or sunset.

Here is my best shot this week.  Most days we were cloudy and overcast.  This is our view to the west from our house.  The old grain bin that we use for storage!  I ran out of the house to capture this photo..just in time.

Sunday Stills : The Number 7

The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was The Number 7.

I had nothing all week.  Then on Saturday morning I was in an antique shop and saw an old 7 Up bottle..so I parted with $2.00 to take these photos.   The bottle was in “as is” condition..dirty..but perhaps that adds some character to the photos.  I played with the bottle posing it in different snow banks in my yard.

7 up two

7 up three

This is a 10 ounce bottle.  I will guess it is from around 1958.   I know most 7 Up bottles have a date on them. This one does not, at least not one that I can decipher.  This one has a D in a diamond in the center, a U off to the left, a 7 off to the right, a 16 at the top position and a 3589 at the bottom position.  It has the slogan “You Like It    It Likes You.” There are seven bubbles on the red parts of the label..some of them are covered with snow.

Have a great week everyone:)

Sunday Stills: Circles

The Sunday Stills Challenge was circles.

Snow in the yard circular firepit

The snow makes a perfect circle disguising the campfire pit.

Sunday Stills :Fabrics

The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was fabrics.  I don’t sew.  But my Mother does and this is a table runner that she made me for Christmas..it is still on the dining room table.

I put the extension tubes on the camera.  I have not used them before.  I bought them to photograph snowflakes.

I will have to keep on keeping on.

I bought a new small enough to keep in my pocket point and shoot last week a Canon SX160IS.  I took the first two photos with that camera today.  I think I will like it.  It beats carting around the big camera and all the lenses especially in the wintertime. Have a good week everyone:)
