My Dicentra exima is blooming, the common name is Fern Leafed Bleeding Heart. She re-seeds herself all over the yard and blooms off and on all summer long. Check out more macros here:)
We have "one" of these plants that comes up every spring (we did not plant it.) It disappears after blooming until the next year here in the South. Yours is especially pretty Connie.
It is such a nice color. We had some frost damage but nothing died. I can even see the pin oak leaves are little curled under. I can see the fern leaf foliage. It reminds me another variety that we have.
Lovely! I love bleeding heart. We couldn't find any this weekend while shopping. Ed and hubby cleared some land for flowerbeds for me yesterday. :) I had a great Mother's Day I hope you did as well.
Gorgeous bleeding heart. Love the color.

ReplyDeleteLove the photo - I just bought a new one to plant.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beauty - I love the little hints of purple in it. I've never had one self seed so this one sounds like a winner. Great macro!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! We need some of those for my mom's garden, I got her a foxglove, asian lillies and some lantana for her garden on this trip home..:-)
