Macro Monday: Signs of Spring

Yesterday Jo needed someone to let Hooch and Odda out a couple of times.  I wandered around and took some photos... all is fair when I am letting the dogs out!!
They live on the prairie so their trees are different than mine!
The Willow was showing off it's catkins.
The Lilac blooms are so tiny when they first appear.  Spring is on it's way!  Check out more macros here:)

Sunday Stills: Barns

This was a tough challenge, I love barns and I like to photograph them.  I have quite a collection, the hard part was deciding which ones to share.
I took this one this week, so as to keep current with how things look up here in Minnesota in April.

This one was taken back in October of 2009, near Pickerel Lake.  I am curious about this barn, and I will just have to stop by and visit with these people someday and find out what is up with those windows in the barn..I have never seen anything like it before have you?
This barn is near Butler, Minnesota.  This photo was taken back in September 2009. I love the tin roof and how it has such a wonderful patina.  The flowers in the foreground are an added bonus.
This is our neighbors barn, it has great character.  It is a barn that I remember from my childhood.

Barns are disappearing from our landscape, one by one they are becoming history. The barn in my header photo is also a neighbors barn, I have photographed that barn in all seasons.   Check out more barns at Sunday Stills:)

Sunday Stills: Potluck

This is our grand dog..Little Elvis!  He is little, he is about five months old..he is not going to be very big.  He is a tri color Shetland Sheepdog.   He is a character..just trying to get a photo of him was a challenge..he is in constant motion.  If you could just bottle up the energy of a Pup..and give it to old people!
Check out more potluck subjects at Sunday Stills:)

Sunday Stills: Hands

This was a very difficult challenge for me.  I took some new photos..nothing was speaking to me.  I decided to go to the archives for this one.  My Great Niece Olivia was in the park one day..she is very photogenic.
No it is not a perfect photo..there are shadows..but maybe in is imperfectness it says something.."I wish I was taller..or I can't reach" ..in Olivia's case it was "Daddy help me! " as he lifted her for the umpteenth time that day.  Check out more Sunday Stills hands here:)

Blogger's Community Photo Challenge: Windows

I photographed this window in a old church that used to be part of our community.  It was donated to the Lake Itasca Region Pioneers Farmers Exhibit where it can be enjoyed and appreciated by many people.  It was originally  built in 1887 in the nearby community of Osage, Minnesota.
More windows can be viewed here:)

I liked the shadow of the pistil in this one ..especially the stigma the uppermost portion of the pistil.  Check out more macros here:)
