The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was brown.
Friends? Maybe they sure were curious about each other.
I missed a few challenges so here are my catchup photos.
The Letter L for a leaf and the snow which is slow leaving.
Black and White Barns
This is the barn at the farmstead where I grew up. I learned how to milk a cow by hand in this barn.
The Sunday Stills challenge this week was cows or bulls.
I went to the September 2013 archives for this challenge.
These are all photos taken just down the road at our neighbors. Have a great week everyone.
The Sunday Stills Challenge was Graffiti or Murals.
This is a mural located in Fosston Minnesota. It depicts life in that area in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s.
The mural is named “Thirteen Towns 1884” I took this photo last fall when there was no snow on the ground.
Have a good week everyone!
The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was bad weather. I have some of that! Here in Minnesota it is cold and snowy.
This is a ground blizzard. Snow is picked up by the wind and causes white out conditions. I took this photo at the end of our driveway.
Here is our driveway..can’t see where it is can you? Good thing we have another driveway we can use.
Here are some more photos of blowing snow. I took these from inside the car as we were driving to town. The wind chills were about –30 F that day.
I wish Spring would hurry on it’s way. Have a good week!
The challenge for Sunday Stills was the letter F.
Fine. Here is some Frost.
Can you see the island off the point? It was enveloped in Frosty Fog. This was at Bad Medicine Lake earlier in the month.
We are having a blizzard here today. I hope you have a wonderful week!
The challenge this week was bridges.
We have/had a footbridge in town.
October 2013
It is a footbridge that leads from one small park to another across the Fish Hook River.
Well in the name of progress it was removed.
November 2013
The new footbridge is suppose to be in place in the spring. It will be much larger and have a longer span to enable the handicapped to walk over the bridge.
November 2013 This old rail road bridge is slated to be removed too.
Last year when we vacationed in Indiana I took some photos near the Blue River. They just leave their bridges in place and let them grow old gracefully.
November 2012
Then of course there are bridges over the Ohio. I think the John F. Kennedy Memorial Bridge was closed when we were there. It goes from Louisville Kentucky to Jeffersonville Indiana.
I hope you all have a great week. It warmed up here!
The challenge this week was something white. Minnesota has white and plenty of it,
The dam at Shell Lake
If you look close you can see some sparkles in the snow.
The dam at Straight Lake.
I miss green, I am tried of white already. Have a good week everyone and stay warm!
The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was dogs.
Perfect! Chance is ever so patient with me…although sometimes he gets a little bored.
Snow makes a perfect background for Border Collie photographs! Have a great week everyone.
Congratulations Sunday Stills you are five years old..good job Ed and Linda too!
The challenge this week was pets.
Of course that means Chance.
I took this just a little bit ago. December 8, 2013 It was snowing just a bit.
Chance goes along to get the mail every morning and on Sundays he has to go for a long walk. He has a routine and likes to follow it every day.
He is my constant companion outdoors.
He is my husbands best buddy…they do everything together. However Chance draws the line at chainsaws and chains, if my husband gets out a chain Chance comes to the house. One time my husband was in the truck pulling stumps and Chance didn’t like it at all. As for the chainsaw..Chance doesn’t like trees that fall over.
When you see Chance a ball is never far away!
Chance is a great dog. He was nine years old in October. He gets a little gimpy some days in the cold weather. He is a house dog…and is well trained, if he has to go out he will pester you or whine quietly. We love him very much and cannot imagine life without him.
Have a good week everyone!
I took this photo last night in town. The tree is up and lit. The Challenge this week in Sunday Stills was a a night shot.
Yes in this little town we can park in the center of Main Street. Have a good week everyone!
The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was to take one photograph of our favorite subject.
Well I bet you all can guess who my favorite subject is??
Well Chance our Border Collie! Surprise surprise! Here he is at an old bridge trying to hide from my camera.
Have a good week everyone:)
The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was the color blue. Ed said to go for something other than the sea and sky. Here are my picks!
Our neighbors Australian Shepherd has blue eyes…his name it Putzer…Putz for short.
We saw this bike along the roadside one day strung up in a tree. Note the old bait bucket is now a flower pot.
Have a good week everyone! :).
The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was bird houses.
The Bluebird houses are empty now. Two batches of babies were raised out of this Bluebird house last summer.
I love to watch the Bluebirds come and go feeding their young. This photo was taken in the spring of the year.
Have a good week everyone:)
The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was to share some Road Side Signs.
Here are a few area signs. Yes that is snow in the air.
Hope you all have a great week:)
The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was Fall Color.
Most of the colorful leaves have fallen here in Minnesota. BUT I did take some photos earlier this month.
October 03, 2013
October 6 2013 sunlight in the woods.
The Tamaracks or Larch started to change color this week.
They are Falls last hurrah in these parts.
