Macro Monday: Hummingbird

Last week one day, a Hummingbird hit our window ( even though I have lots of pretty crap hanging up in the windows).  My husband rescued the bird and held it until it recovered enough to fly off by itself.
The feathers on his throat were beautiful.
It was a wonderful experience to see him up close and personal.

Macro Monday: Roses

These are Knock Out Roses..they were inside the garden department at Menards.  I took some photos in there last Saturday after the Airshow. Some of the sales associates looked at me really weird but they didn't tell me I had to stop taking photos.   Perhaps they viewed me as a potential customer..not!  I could not believe the junk that they were selling..most of it was buggy and overgrown or had been sprayed with insecticide and had burned edges.  I was disgusted..not only at Menards for buying plants that look like crap..but at the public for buying them. End of rant.  Check out more Macros here.

Sunday Stills: Landscapes

The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was landscapes..I shoot lots of them..but they usually have a dog in them.
Chance waiting patiently at the end of our driveway while we were planting trees..being a black dog on warm days he seeks the shade to rest.  The Burr Oaks are not totally leafed out yet.
Long Lake one day this week.
Buffalo in a field one day this week on the way to town, this one was taking on the fly..out the passenger window..I was not driving. Have a good week everyone:)

Sunday Stills: Flowers or Wildflowers

The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was flowers or wildflowers.  I chose wildflowers. This is a tiny little wild violet that is in our yard, it always blooms in May.
This is a Wild Iris, this one just happens to be in someones garden.  The thing in the background is a bird cage..part of the fancy smancy art in gardens movement..please just give me plain ole flowers any day of the week.  Have a good week everyone..we had five days of rain last week and two days of sunshine:)

Sunday Stills: The Letter B

Boys who just happen to be brothers balancing on the boat.  I am basking in the sunshine!

Brand new pontoon boat brought over on May 08, 2010.   Nope not ours, it belongs to our youngest daughter and her husband! We have lots of room for it in our parking lot.
Boating..Brrr..she is only partially frozen in the brisk 40 degree weather. Bring on summer!  Check out more B's at Sunday Stills
Happy Mother's Day! :)

Sunday Stills: Controls

This weeks Sunday Still Challenge was controls.  OK.. here are some..
These are the controls for Far Guy's train set..a Lionel that he had as a kid.

This is a control that perhaps you have never seen. Almost a one of a kind.  My Nephew has a 1954 Hudson SuperWasp..this is the control that is under the dash:)
