The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was to take a closer look.

Asters

Asters..not sure which one…possibly a Smooth Aster.

Geranium Bud

Take a look at this Geranium bud..this is what I love about macro photography..the ability to get such great detail!

Sedum and a Hornet

Sedum and some kind of Hornet or Wasp.

Almost everything is brown here now.

Macro Monday: Signs of Spring

Yesterday Jo needed someone to let Hooch and Odda out a couple of times.  I wandered around and took some photos... all is fair when I am letting the dogs out!!
They live on the prairie so their trees are different than mine!
The Willow was showing off it's catkins.
The Lilac blooms are so tiny when they first appear.  Spring is on it's way!  Check out more macros here:)

Macro Monday : Poinsettia

There are about one hundred different varieties of Poinsettia, red is still the most popular.   The flowers are actually the tiny clusters in the center, the most colorful part of any poinsettia is it's bracts.  I heard a story a long time ago..that the Poinsettia was a "Ho Hum" kind of plant until Johnny Carsons set designers lined some up along the stage..once everyone saw the plant..they all wanted one.  Check out more macros at Sunday Stills:)

The Milkweed pods are opening..the seeds are heading on out!  Check out more Macros at Sunday Stills,  It has been so cold and rainy here it is a struggle to get out and photograph..but I will try to get out more this week. Last weeks macro pickins really sucked..and I refuse to go to the archives yet: :)
