I found me some peonies last week, this was almost my best shot. I cropped it, to make it better. I love the fragrance of a peony, it brings back memories of Sunday morning flowers at church, and the little old ladies shaking the ants out of the beautiful plump heads. Check out more macros
here:)
Did you buy you a peony or did you already have them. I love this flower. Wish I had some this year. My Sarah Bernhadt Peony isn't going to do anything. I am going to move it for next year and see how it does.
ReplyDeleteI love all of these photos!! I stopped by here, on your other blog, because peony is one of my absolute favorite flowers. Mine are finally getting comfortable and starting to do well...these are the ones a friend gave me in '98--they moved when I separated from my ex in 2000, when I bought my own house in 2004, and unfortunately when I sell my house in '12 they'll have to move again!!
ReplyDeleteI love pionies. I've always heard that peonies need the ants to bloom. Maybe they shouldn't be shaking them off! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot and excellent color..:-)
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL! I am with you on their fragrance. Many pleasant old memories come flooding back when I smell them.

ReplyDeleteYou should enter this picture in the Retired Chronicles for the June contest on Flowers. It will probably win, it's so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot!
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful. All of my peonies have bloomed and gone. It's one of my favorite flowers.
ReplyDeleteI've never lived anywhere where peonies thrive. In fact I've never seen one except in photos. They must require cooler temps and lots of moisture.
ReplyDeleteStunning photo!
