The challenge this week was going buggy.

A little bee on some Erigeron.

A pretty blue bug on some alfalfa.

I could have photographed the thousands of mosquitoes out in my yard…but I will leave them to your imagination!  Have a good week everyone:)

Sunday Stills: Yellow Flowers

The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was Yellow Flowers.

Yellow Water Lilies a water plant native to Minnesota.

A beautiful yellow wilfdflower.

Evening Primrose along a garden path.

Note the X shaped stigma, most (not all) Primroses have that unique X shaped stigma.

Here is one of my favorite yellow flowers.  They are done blooming but I have a few photos.

Sunday Stills : No Zoom

The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was no zoom.  That is harder than it sounds.  Good challenge Ed!

A perfect day to be out on the water..or at least on the dock taking photographs.

My parents owned this resort years ago, it is just down the lake from where we live.  That would be my husband kayaking. Have a great week:)

Sunday Stills: Historic Sites or Markers

The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was historic sites or markers.  I work in a historic building that was completed in 1900.  It used to be the County Courthouse, now it houses the Hubbard County Historical Museum.  I am the Director of the museum.

Chance is the official greeter.

 

When I say we had bats in our belfry (attic) it was no joke.

We hired a guy with the business name of The Batman to rid us of our bats.   He sealed all of the openings with special tubes so once they left the building they could not return..they would have to find a new home with friends and neighbors!

I work at the museum from May 1 to to the last day in September.  The rest of the year I work from home.  The museum even though it is a historical building does not have heat or air conditioning nor is it handicap accessible.

 

The museum is in the basement and on the first level.  The fancy smancy Art Museum is upstairs..they have air conditioning.

See that window to the right of the main door with the butterflies?  That is my office..I am there most days during the summer. All of these photograph are from my archives.  I had a really busy week at the museum and no time to take photos.  Have a good week everyone:)

Sunday Stills: Sunset or Sunrise

The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was sunset or sunrise.  I am so not a morning person.  I suppose I should have gotten up to take some sunrises..but I did not.

Sunday Stills: Horses

The Sunday Stills Challenge this week is horses. 

We saw a sign one evening that had a picture of a wagon  and MMHC on it and an arrow. For several miles we tried to figure out what MMHC could stand for.  We followed the arrow and found another sign. Finally, it is Mid-West Minnesota Harness Club.  They get together twice during the summer in different areas of Minnesota.

 

I took a couple of photos from the road.

We decided to drive back in where they were.  They were very friendly and I asked if I could take some photos.

Sunday Stills: Sky

The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was sky.

It was a rainy cold week here in Minnesota.  Finally over the weekend we began to see some blue skies and some sunshine!
