Macro Monday: Thuja occidentalis

Thuja occidentalis is better known as Arborvitae or Northern White Cedar. It is an evergreen. There are lots of cultivars with many names. Some are short and round, some are tall and pyramidal, all are great food for deer..so it is a city plant. Check out the other Macros at Lisa's Chaos :)

  1. Nice detail on the stem ... those teeny yellow spots ... the scaly-ness of it all.

  2. That is beautiful! I even see a perfect snowflake on one of the little brown thingies. :)

  3. Something about the snow brings out the fresh scent of cedar. Mmmm!
