Sunday Stills : The Number 7

The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was The Number 7.

I had nothing all week.  Then on Saturday morning I was in an antique shop and saw an old 7 Up bottle..so I parted with $2.00 to take these photos.   The bottle was in “as is” condition..dirty..but perhaps that adds some character to the photos.  I played with the bottle posing it in different snow banks in my yard.

7 up two

7 up three

This is a 10 ounce bottle.  I will guess it is from around 1958.   I know most 7 Up bottles have a date on them. This one does not, at least not one that I can decipher.  This one has a D in a diamond in the center, a U off to the left, a 7 off to the right, a 16 at the top position and a 3589 at the bottom position.  It has the slogan “You Like It    It Likes You.” There are seven bubbles on the red parts of the label..some of them are covered with snow.

Have a great week everyone:)

The Sunday Stills Challenge was circles.

Snow in the yard circular firepit

The snow makes a perfect circle disguising the campfire pit.

Sunday Stills :Fabrics

The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was fabrics.  I don’t sew.  But my Mother does and this is a table runner that she made me for Christmas..it is still on the dining room table.

I put the extension tubes on the camera.  I have not used them before.  I bought them to photograph snowflakes.

I will have to keep on keeping on.

I bought a new small enough to keep in my pocket point and shoot last week a Canon SX160IS.  I took the first two photos with that camera today.  I think I will like it.  It beats carting around the big camera and all the lenses especially in the wintertime. Have a good week everyone:)

Sunday Stills : Old Barns

The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was old barns.

These are all Minnesota Barns located within a mile or two from our home.

Bridges Barn

This is Bridge’s barn.  It got a new roof last summer.

Donnies Barn

Donnie’s barn.

Old Yliniemi Barn

I am well acquainted with this barn and have milked many a cow inside.  By hand and with milking machines.

Old Henderson Barn

This beautiful old barn was built by my husbands Grandfather.  It is a tin barn..you don’t see many tin covered barns in this area.

There are not as many barns as there were years ago..years ago every section of land would have a barn. Have a good week everyone:)

Sunday Stills:One Tree

The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was to photograph one tree.

Chance and I went out looking for one tree earlier today.  It is dark and dreary here in Minnesota…and cold.

One Tree for Sunday Stills

The farm where I grew up is in the background.

We drove along shivering..Chance likes to hang his head out the window..so I indulged him for a little while.

This is a stately old Oak not far from home.  Have a good week everyone:)
