Sunday Stills: Toys
The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was toys. I took a walk and visited my twin great nephews, they are five years old! They have toys!
Chance visited too, he loves the boys! On two ocassions he has attempted to kidnap them and bring them home with him. Funny thing, we always notice and they must be returned:)

Wednesday Words: Cards
A card from a friend, just because she likes me! She said she was sending them to me with joy in her heart! Well you can just imagine what a picker up this was for me when Far Guy brought them to me in the hospital! Jen has a wonderful selection of cards, she said enjoy them, send them, use them. They are all beautiful and unique, and I just love them! Thanks Jen! You made my yesterday, a not so great day much better! How she knew from way up there in Canada on July 07 that I would need a pick me up package, I will never know..maybe she is my long lost sister!
I am home from the hospital, resting and getting better. I took this photo in the hospital, it was the only photo I took while there. Excuse the tacky hospital sheets, I tried to cover them up with the wrapping paper. Check out Muddy Boot Dreams other Wednesday Words! :)

Sunday Stills: Texture
The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was texture. How about a Bull Thistle? They are terribly prickly. I hate them.
What about some foliose and crustose lichens on a Burr Oak? I like lichens:)

Ellipsis Monday Photo Shoot: Black and Blue
Carly said show me something black or blue, or black and blue! Chance should require Union Scale by now, but he is happy with some praise and a few extras treats..he loves posing! :)
Question of the week. What is your favorite color and why? How does color affect your choices when it comes to photography?
My favorite color is red, because it is cheerful and bright! Given the choice I would photograph something red, before something pink. I tend to photograph only a few colors at a time..I like simple colors, and simple photography..it is in my comfort zone. I need to work on my colorfulness:)

Sunday Stills: Wildflowers
The Sundays Stills Challenge this week was wildflowers! Wildflowers are my favorite thing to photograph, so I was delighted with this challenge, thanks ED! I decided to show you just four of my favorites. All are native to Minnesota, all are beautiful , I hope you enjoy them!
Blue Flag Iris or Iris versicolor, this is along a stream about two miles from our home.
Minnesota's State Flower the Showy Lady's Slipper or Cypripedium reginae, she starts blooming around June 20, and is still blooming. These are about 10 miles from our home.
The Yellow Lady's Slipper or Cypripedium parviflorum, she blooms around June 20, and is still blooming. I can walk to this one as she is found along our back driveway. This year there were five blooms! That may not seem like many, but that is two more than she had last year!
Indian Paintbrush or Castilleja coccinea. He is a little more difficult to find, we had to go further away to find a good stand of these, about twenty miles. He was well worth the trip! :)
