When I was a kid, we never had nor saw Pansy anywhere, but my Aunt who lived in Creston Iowa had them along the south part of her old house. I thought they were so alien. I suppose she must have ordered them from seeds as greenhouses didn't exist back then. Now they have such nice varieties.
