Thanks Lisa for hosting Macro Monday!
I am sure many of you have seen these berries before. The berries are actually a fruity looking female cone. Young berries like these are used to flavor Gin!
Junipers are not my favorite, there are way to many species to understand and remember. In my opinion they are way to common in the landscape to be truly appreciated. "Just another Juniper." Seems like when ever a Landscape Architect or Designer needs a "fill in plant" they use a Juniper. However these berries captured my attention:)
Gorgeous shot, far side! Was looking for Manic Monday... :)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry, was looking for Round Robin Photo Challenge...but your photos are lovely...
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, those berries make think of my grandmother. When I was a child she had plenty of them in her yard and I always liked to pick and throw them. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely, delicate. :)
I can almost smell the berries. Great shot
ReplyDeleteI never paid much attention to the berries on a juniper, but then I was in Phoenix for 30 years. I need to get up closer to the trees here in Missouri. Thanks for the inspiration and for sharing a beautiful shot.
ReplyDeleteOne redeeming factor....they smell good. And the photograph good too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot! I played too :-)
ReplyDeleteI agree, we have a million junipers around here, too. Great shot.
