Sunday Stills:Inspiration For Photography

The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was to show something that inspires your photography.  Let the pictures speak for themselves.  Okay..but first I must tell you..I recently enjoyed a weekend away to immerse myself in photography..get a few lessons and practice, practice, practice..these photos are the result. They are my inspiration to become a better photographer.

Sunday Stills: Signs of Fall

This weeks Sunday Stills Challenge was a Signs of Fall.

I live in Minnesota.  The trees are at their peak color this weekend.

Populus deltoides or Aspen

Aspens..or Populus deltoides..or Popples…or piss Popples because they are worthless for firewood. The wood just sits in a wood stove and water  boils out the end of the wood.  Pretty in the evening light!

Red Oak

Red Oak.. not sure which one.

Norways and Jacks wth Aspen and Oaks behund

Looking through the understory of Jack Pine and Norway Pine to the forest beyond filled with Popples and Oaks.

Waving Hello Shadow

This is my shadow way hello to October..and goodbye to September.  I missed the Shadows of Ourselves Challenge.  I missed the Music Challenge..I will work on that one!   I have closed the Museum for the winter..so hopefully I will be able to spend more time doing what I want to..like take photographs.  Have a good week everyone:)

Sunday Stills: Faces

The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was faces.  I took some photos of my great nieces back in August with the new camera.

Livey (2)

This is the beautiful Olivia or Livey, she started school this past week.

Brooke (2)

This is Brooke she looks so much like her mother!  She is all alone at home whilst her sisters are at school..until January when the new baby arrives.  Then I am afraid this one will have to give up her spot as the baby of the family.

Aubrey

This is Miss Aubrey, she is my great niece that lives next door.  I wanted to show off her wonderful smile.  Aubrey was born with a double cleft lip and palate.  She has endured many surgeries.  She is a trooper. She has endured more pain than a small child should.  She is always ready to smile for me and my camera as long as I show her the beautiful photo!

Have a good week everyone:)

Sunday Stills : Rays of Sunshine

The Sunday Stills Challenge this week was Rays of Sunshine.

Rays of Sunshine

This was sunset one evening last week.

Ray flower

This is some kind of Helianthus a flower in the Asteracea Family.  The petals radiate from the center in a spoke like fashion and are called ray flowers.  The ones in the center are called disk flowers.

So this flower being yellow and all has rays..rays of sunshine!  Have a good week everyone:)

Sunday Stills:Cats

The challenge this week was Cats.  Cats are more difficult than dogs.  Dogs will sit and stay and cats just do their own thing.  I photographed the neighbors cat.

Her name is Sophie.  She is the cat that welcomes you to the farm yard.  She runs up and meows a few times and hisses at Chance and then she sits someplace and watches his every movement!

The new camera is a bit frustrating at times.  I am practicing every day.  Have a good week everyone:)
